Chair Cover Rentals in Sacramento

Chair covers slip over a venue's existing banquet or folding chairs so every seat in the room reads the same and matches your palette. Whatever banquet chairs your Sacramento venue keeps in storage, they almost never match what you have in mind for the day. A cover fixes that in one move: every chair in the room reads the same, and the seating finally lines up with your linens and tablecloths. We stock Rent4.Party chair covers to fit the standard banquet and folding chairs that turn up at venues around here, in colors that work with most palettes. Below: what we carry, how each style fits, and how covers and sashes go together.

What we stock

Rent4.Party stocks three cover types sorted by fit: fitted spandex covers, draped polyester covers, and chiffon sashes. Fitted spandex covers stretch over the chair and follow its shape, so the result is tight and tailored with no slack to catch the light. Spandex covers come in white (by far the most ordered), ivory, black, and a rotating set of accent colors for branded events. The spandex look reads modern, and because nothing sags, it holds up well in photos.

Draped polyester covers are the softer option — a full cover with a gathered back and some flow to it. We carry these in white, ivory, and champagne, and they suit ballroom weddings where the room leans traditional. Add a chiffon sash in your accent color and you get the classic gathered silhouette you have seen at a hundred receptions.

Chiffon sashes are the accent piece that pulls the chair into the rest of your colors. Chiffon sashes tie at the back in a bow or knot and come in nearly every shade we keep in our linen and napkin lines, so the chair, the napkin, and the cloth can all land on the same color. Sashes cost little per unit and change the look a lot, which is why most of our cover orders include one.

How each style fits different chairs

Our fitted spandex covers are cut for the standard banquet chair — a 17-inch seat, a straight or slightly curved back — which is what you find at hotel ballrooms, conference centers, and community halls across the region. The fabric stretches enough to handle small differences in chair size, so one cover works across most venues.

Folding chairs (the metal or white resin kind you see at outdoor and garden weddings) get their own cover, cut narrower to match. Folding chair covers are worth it outdoors: a bare metal folding chair next to a nice cloth always gives the budget away, and a cover hides it for a few dollars a seat.

Specialty chairs — Chiavari, cross-back, king and queen chairs — usually do not need a cover, since the chair itself is part of the design. Some clients still tie a sash on the back of a Chiavari for a touch of color, but the bare chair is the point. If you are renting specialty seating, talk to us about whether a sash adds anything or whether the chair should stand alone.

How many to rent

Rent one cover, plus one sash if you want it, per chair. A 150-guest reception with 150 dining chairs needs 150 covers, plus 10 to 15 spares in case of a stain on the day. If guests sit for the ceremony in a separate set of chairs, double it — 150 for the ceremony and 150 for the reception — unless your venue flips the same chairs between the two, which many Sacramento venues do.

For a corporate dinner, the count matches the guest list. For an outdoor ceremony with folding chairs, it matches the ceremony list. Covers are cheap enough per seat that we almost never see anyone try to stretch one cover across two chairs.

Tying covers into the rest of the table

Chair covers carry the colors from your linens and tablecloths down to the seating. The most common setup is a white spandex cover with a chiffon sash in your accent color — the cover fades into the background while the sash does the talking. For a modern, minimal look, black spandex against a white cloth and clear glass vases gives you a sharp monochrome table. For a traditional ballroom, draped ivory covers and champagne sashes sit well with gold-rim dinnerware and gold candle holders.

Covers by type of event

Weddings account for most of our cover orders. Ballroom venues tend to have older banquet chairs that benefit from one, and outdoor venues with folding chairs almost always add covers to the basic order. For corporate events, a sash in the company color ties the dinner back to the brand without much effort. At quinceañeras, covers in the celebration colors are expected on the main table and ceremony seating. For baby showers and bridal showers, a soft pastel sash on a white cover matches the usual palette. And for birthday parties or private events at home, a cover turns a rented folding chair into something you would actually sit a guest in.

Setup, care, and logistics

Putting a cover on takes 30 to 90 seconds depending on the style, and covers arrive cleaned, pressed, and bagged. Spandex stretches over and self-centers, while a draped cover needs a minute to even out the gathers and tie the sash. On bigger jobs we often work with the venue's setup crew so the covers go on during the normal table-and-chair setup rather than as a separate pass.

During the event there is nothing to do — the covers just sit there. At the end of the night, venue staff pulls them off and drops them back in the bags we send. We launder everything at our facility, and food or drink stains get treated the same as our linens: cleaning handles almost all of it at no extra charge. Damage past what cleaning can fix is billed at replacement cost, spelled out in the contract.

Delivery around the region

Covers ride along with the other soft goods — linens, napkins, tablecloths — on one truck to venues across Sacramento, Davis, Roseville, Folsom, Elk Grove, Rocklin, and Woodland, along with wine country spots up in the foothills. We time the drop with your venue or planner so there is room to get the covers on before the event starts.

Common questions

Will your covers fit any chair? The fitted spandex covers are cut for standard banquet chairs (17-inch seat, 33 to 37 inches overall), which covers most chairs you will run into at local venues. Folding chair covers are sized for standard metal and resin folding chairs. For anything unusual — oversized, low-back, or specialty Chiavari — send us measurements or a photo and we will check fit before the order is final.

How long are the sashes? Chiffon sashes run about 108 inches long and 8 to 10 inches wide, which is enough to tie a real bow on the back of a banquet chair with the ends trailing down. For lower-back or narrower chairs we can shorten them to suit during prep.

Can we tie our own sashes, or do you do it? Either works. For small events — up to about 50 chairs — your venue team or planner can have the sashes on in under an hour. For 100 chairs or more, we fold installation into the rental and our crew shows up 2 to 3 hours ahead to do the full setup. The labor is itemized in the quote.

Do you print or brand sashes for corporate events? Standard colors, yes. Printing, no — ink ruins the fabric for the next rental. If you want branded sashes for a corporate event, we can point you to a specialty vendor who prints single-use ones for your date, which you would buy rather than rent.

What if a sash goes missing or gets ruined? Normal wear is covered. Real damage — cuts, burns, stains that will not come out — and anything that does not come back is billed at replacement cost. In practice that almost never happens, since the sashes stay tied to the chairs and guests do not pull them off.

Do covers and sashes come as a set, or separately? Separately, however you like. A very common pairing is white spandex covers with colored chiffon sashes in the wedding accent color. You can also rent covers with no sash for a plainer look, or just sashes on bare chairs if the venue already has decent banquet chairs that only need a bit of color.

Color pairings worth borrowing

The standard formal pairing is white or ivory covers with blush, champagne, or gold sashes — a warm set that works with gold flatware, gold-rim dinnerware, and ivory tablecloths. White or ivory with blush, champagne, or gold is the combination we ship most often, and the pairing holds up under every venue light we have seen.

For a modern, minimal table, black spandex covers with no sash (or a black-on-black one) against a white tablecloth and clear glass vases reads as a clean monochrome. The black monochrome look has picked up a lot of bookings the last few years, especially at newer urban venues.

For garden and wine country weddings, white covers with sage, dusty blue, or terracotta sashes sit naturally with wood tables, plenty of greenery, and warm candlelight. The muted sash colors read organic rather than formal, which fits the outdoor look most couples are after up here.

For quinceañeras and other milestone parties that go bold, covers in the celebration color — crimson, royal blue, emerald, gold — with a contrasting sash set the tone fast. Covers are one of the cheapest ways to push a strong color across a whole room without piling it onto any one surface.
